All True Doctrine Makes Christ the Center - Every Precept Receives Force from His Words
"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock." Matthew 7:24, 25.
"Other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:11.
We have within our grasp a vitalizing, life-giving power. By receiving Jesus Christ into our lives, we can be clothed with this power. Christ's presence in our life is a quickening power, strengthening our entire being. This treasured blessing awaits our appeal and response. It is in the Word of God that we find Christ at the center - the very foundation we need to build on. It is the life of Christ, found in His word that gives life to each and every person on the face of this earth. That word is eternal life. It is, in it's entirety, offered in His word. By studying and searching the Scriptures we can find Jesus most assuredly. "Search the Scriptures," He says,..."they are they which testify of Me. John 5:39. "Desire the milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby." 1 Peter 2:2.
Mankind was created a free moral agent, but since the fall of man, the true exposition of the Scriptures is essential for us to obtain the correct moral development of our character. It is through false theories, doctrines, and traditions that Satan and his fallen angels, gains his power over the human mind. One incorrect interpretation from him, can lead us down a path of self-deception, and at last, final destruction. "Study...rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15.
If we do not resist it's drawing power, the Holy Spirit, the only true representative of Christ, takes the truth from the sacred pages of Scripture, where God has placed it, for the benefit of you and I, and molds the truth into our minds. "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Philippians 2:5.
Increased understanding of the Bible, particularly upon the prophecies, is promised.
If we do not resist, God will send increased "light," or understanding, that shines upon the grand truths of Bible prophecy. They will light up and be seen in newness and brilliancy. Our spiritual blindness will give way to spiritual eye sight. The promise, in Malachi 4:2, "But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings," should revive and comfort each of us. Oh that we accept the spiritual eye salve that Jesus offers.
It is also prophesied in Scripture, that knowledge will increase as we get nearer to the close of this earths history. The knowledge of Christ and prophecies relating to Him will be greatly increased. It is happening today, and preparing a people to stand for God in these latter days. Truths found in the Bible, that were once held by Christ and His faithful followers, will be reset before honest, inquiring minds, opened and explained. They will be made to , once again, appear in all their heavenly beauty, to be seen as truths that shall stand fast forever, like a house built on solid rock. The prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation will become clearly understood. When this happens, choices will be made, lines will be drawn. A great revival will be seen among those that fear God and keep His commandments. The great controversy between Christ and Satan, on our behalf, will become of infinite importance, as it relates to the history and future of mankind.
It should be the burden of every Christian book; every passage of the Scripture, to present the unfolding of this wonderful theme, - man's uplifting, - the power of God, "which giveth us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:57. Those who humbly grasp this thought will have before them a boundless field for careful study. They will have the key that unlocks the very treasure house doors of God's Word. And this very "Word" tells of the Christ - "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:11
"But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great." Luke 6:49.
The inspired Psalmist declares: "If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Psalm 11:3
For if the righteousness of Christ is not at the center of our life - The solid Rock under our life, how shall we stand in the time of great crisis?
